Cornell splits one of two

Cornell’s volleyball program faced two tough opponents, over the week, taking one of two in the matches.

Sept. 2 vs. Birchwood conference

First off, Cornell was on the road at Birchwood, where they pulled off the win.

Leading on kills, was senior Ishani Foulk, with 10, followed by senior Mariah Meeler, with 7. Senior Kallee DeKarske was right behind, with 6 kills, while freshman Ashlynn Short ended with 5 kills. Coming up with 7 aces, was sophomore Willow Kobliska, with DeKarske and Foulk adding 4 aces.

DeKarske, Foulk and Short all had a block each, with DeKarske coming up with 16 assists, while Foulk had 7. Leading on digs for the night, was Meeler, with 8, followed closely by junior Kyleigh Mercer and Foulk, with 7.

Sept. 4 vs. Bruce conference

Two days later, the Chiefs hosted Bruce, but were outmatched and the Raiders took the win.

DeKarske led, with 7 kills, with Foulk right behind, with 6, while Meeler and Short each added a kill. Mercer came away with 2 aces on the night, with Foulk, Meeler and DeKarske all chipping in with an ace.

Following that, Kobliska led on digs, with 12, while Meeler had 5, and Foulk and Mercer ended with 4 each.
