Trojans turn tide in their favor over the Chieftains

It was a perfect night for football, Aug. 28, as the Lake Holcombe Chieftains hosted New Auburn, in a non-conference match. The home team struck first, with a long touchdown pass from junior Emmit Johnson to junior Connor Kane, who scampered into the endzone from about six yards out.
The two-point conversion was no good and unfortunately for the Chieftains, that seemed to set the tone for the rest of the game. New Auburn was relentless and claimed a 58-6 victory over their opponents.
Johnson ended the night with 118 yards passing and 30 on rushing, along with 126 yards kicking, while junior Kadyn Jones had 29 yards rushing and 24 yards on receiving. He also had 6 tackles.
Sophomore Kyle Heidtke had 79 return yards on the night, with Kane adding 79 on receiving and 7 tackles, while senior Tommy Kane had 5 tackles. Sophomore Nathan Morfoot also added to the overall yards, with 10 on return, as well as 4 tackles.
Seniors Tyler Hattamer and Brody Miller each added 3 tackles to the mix.
