Cadott splits games with duo of conference rivals

As the season is winding down, the Cadott baseball program is getting in good form, gearing up for the playoffs.
May 13 vs. Stanley-Boyd conference (W 7-0)
First up, the Hornets were on the road to Stanley-Boyd, coming up with a shutout victory over their rivals, 7-0.
Senior Warren Bowe was on the mound for Cadott, going all seven innings, with just 3 hits, while striking out 15 batters.
Offensively, Bowe had 3 hits, with freshman Drew Rykal adding 2 hits, and junior Michael Wellner, sophomore Isaac Wellner, and freshmen Jake Weeks and Jacob Pilgrim all coming away with a hit.
May 15 vs. Stanley-Boyd conference (L 3-0)
A couple days later, the Hornets were at home against Stanley-Boyd, but this time, the score favored the Orioles, 3-0.
At the helm for Cadott, was Rykal, who went six innings, giving up 5 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks and striking out 4. Junior Aiden Rykal then took over, going an inning and allowing a lone hit.
Notching a hit, were Bowe, I. Wellner, D. Rykal, Weeks, Pilgrim and freshman Lucas Bourget.
It was also senior night, the opportunity to recognize Bowe as the lone senior and his impact on the growth of their program.
“He’s a competitor and a leader,” said coach Brandon Geist.
May 19 vs. McDonell conference (L 2-0)
After the weekend off, the Hornets were then on the road to McDonell, in the first of a doubleheader, dropping the match, 2-0.
Pitching for Cadott, was Bowe, who allowed 3 hits, 2 runs and 2 walks, while striking out 12.
On the offensive side, A. Rykal and freshman Joel Weeks came up with a hit each.
May 19 vs. McDonell conference (W 4-1)
In the second game, it was Cadott’s turn to take the win, as they had four runs cross the plate, opposed to the Macks’ one.
A. Rykal was on the mound, going seven innings, giving up 2 hits, a run and 4 walks, and striking out 5 batters.
Bowe and M. Wellner each added 2 hits, while D. Rykal, Jake Weeks and Pilgrim all came up with a hit.
