It was a jam-packed week for the Cadott golf program, including an invitational on the home course of Whispering Pines.
May 5 Marathon City Match
The Hornets were at Marathon City, to begin their week, with junior Collin Kowalczyk carding the lowest score of 83, followed by senior Parker Davis and sophomore Brady Goettl, with 84. Junior Gavin Roscoe followed that with 92 and sophomore Max Demulling carded a 93.
“Our goal as a team is to have four scores in the low to mid-80’s,” said coach Scott Christenson.
May 6 Marshfield Match
The next day, Cadott was in Marshfield, with Goettl scoring 82 and Davis carding 84. Roscoe and Demulling each scored an 89, and sophomore Garret Engel had 111.
“We are improving each week, and looking to lower our scores by the end of the season,” said Christenson.
May 8 Arkdale Match
Next, Cadott was in Arkdale, taking fifth out of 21 schools.
“Cadott was just seven strokes away from finishing in the top two for teams at this event,” said assistant coach Jon Erickson.
Goettl carded the lowest score, with 78, with Davis and Kowalczyk each scoring 88, while Demulling had 92 and senior Ewan Weir carded a 99.
“Northern Bay is a challenging track, with some very unique holes,” said Erickson. “The team battled a testing wind, on a long course and overall, they played very well, on a beautiful day for golf,” said Erickson.
May 12 Home Match
To finish it off, the Hornets hosted 14 other teams, claiming fifth place, shooting a season best of 327.
Goettl had a great day, finishing with 73, to take second place out of 72 golfers, while Davis had 80 and Kowalczyk carded an 81. Roscoe followed that up with a 93 and Demulling ended with 95.
