Knights can’t get offense going against other teams
By Ginna Young
The Cornell-Lake Holcombe baseball program managed to get three games in over the week, but the outcomes didn’t go the way they wanted.
April 22 vs. Bruce conference (L 12-0)
Because of wet field conditions, the match-up with Bruce was played at the Raiders’ facility. The change of plans may have thrown off the Knights somewhat, as the game went to Bruce, in a 12-0 shutout.
April 24 vs. Flambeau conference (L 14-2)
A couple days later, the Knights made the short trek to Flambeau, and while they managed to put a couple runs on the board, the Falcons still claimed the win, 14-2.
April 25 vs. Rib Lake non-conference (L 18-1)
The next day, the Knights were in Rib Lake, but again, the offense wasn’t there for the visitors, while the defense was unable to hold back the home team.
Rib Lake took an 18-1 win, making the Knights 0-3 on the week.
