Cadott improving on the links as playoffs approach
By Ginna Young
Better weather has made for good conditions on the course, allowing Cadott’s golf program to have strong performances.
May 6 Whispering Pines
To begin the week, the Hornets were at home, facing off with multiple area schools.
Junior Parker Davis carded the lowest score of the day for his team, with an 83, while freshman Brady Goettl had an 85; Senior Jordan Peters came next, with a score of 88, followed by sophomore Gavin Roscoe, with 89, and sophomore Collin Kowalczyk, who carded a 91.
“We had great weather yesterday, and the team played well on their home course,” said coach Scott Christenson. “I am very pleased with where we are at as a team.”
May 7 Marshfield
The next day, it was off to Marshfield, where Peters led the team with a score of 84.
“I was very happy with Jordan Peters’ performance today,” said Christenson.
Following that, was Goettl, with an 86, while Davis had a score of 97. Roscoe carded a 102 and freshman Max Demulling ended the day with a score of 108.
May 9 Altoona
Two days after that, the Hornets were on the road to face Altoona.
“Being able to play a round at the Eau Claire County Club always makes for a great afternoon, regardless of performance,” said assistant coach Jon Erickson. “The course provides a unique strategy and challenges different parts of the game. The greens and rough require extra attention, as they are faster and put more emphasis on a solid short game.”
The Hornets took care of business and took second place, behind Bloomer.
“Next week brings the conference tournament and Regionals are quickly approaching,” said Erickson. “We look forward to a strong finish to the season.”
