By Ginna Young
They may be young, but the Cornell-Lake Holcombe golf program is playing well beyond their years.
April 30 Turtle Lake Match
First up on the schedule, was taking on Turtle Lake at Cumberland’s course, with freshman Bryce DeJongh scoring 51 and gaining 14 all-conference points, while sophomore Carson Stipek carded a 55, earning his first, 4 all-conference points.
Junior Torren Parker followed that with a 57, with junior Jared Raatz right behind, with 59, while sophomore Logan Jaedike had a score of 64.
“Cumberland was one of the tougher courses we’ve played so far this year, with fast greens, but a much-needed learning experience for all,” said coach Megan Bitney.
May 3 Winter Match
It was then off to Winter, where the Knights nabbed fourth place.
“The youngest team in the conference carded a 218 team score…” said Bitney.
They were led by Parker, with 51, and Jaedike followed that with a 53. DeJongh was next, carding a 56 and sophomore Alex Dixon had a score of 58.
