By Ginna Young

The Cornell-Lake Holcombe baseball program had a tough week, going up against two East Lakeland Conference competitors.

April 23 vs. Flambeau, conference (L 32-5)

To begin the week, the Knights were at home against Flambeau, but with larger numbers to their credit, the Falcons put more runs on the board.

The Knights battled to get five players across the plate, but Flambeau never let up and took a 32-5 win.

April 25 vs. New Auburn, conference (L 13-3)

Next up, the Knights were off to New Auburn, where their defense fared better, but the Trojans nonetheless were able to claim a 13-3 victory in six innings.

On the mound for the Knights, junior Preston Fredrickson pitched 4.5 innings, striking out 7 batters and giving up 6 runs. Freshmen Izaak Solie and Donovan Bera took over, pitching the remaining innings and combined, they allowed 7 runs.

The Knights remain winless at 0-5 on the season and 0-4 in the league.
