It was a hard schedule for the Cadott softball program, as they faced five conference opponents within a span of six days.

April 30 vs. Bloomer conference (L 4-3)

The Hornets were in action at Bloomer, in game one of a double header and while it was a close affair, the Blackhawks snuck by Cadott for a 4-3 victory.

“Junior Rilei Weeks had a nice homer in our first game,” said coach Lexie Rothbauer.

In the second game, the offense just wasn’t there and Bloomer took a 9-1 win.

“Junior Kasey Moldrem pitched both games with a collective 15 strikeouts,” said Rothbauer.

May 3 vs. Fall Creek conference (L 9-3)

A few days later, Cadott hosted Fall Creek, but ultimately fell to the Crickets, 9-3.

“Sophomore Kennedy Nerdrum brought in all three of the runs tonight, with her two doubles,” said assistant coach Allie Webster.

Weeks ended with two hits and sophomore Abi Bowe had a hit, while Moldrem was on the mound for seven strong innings.

May 6 vs. Stanley-Boyd conference (W 10-9)

A weekend off, and Cadott was ready to face Stanley-Boyd at home in a double header. The Hornets scored five runs in the second inning and three in the third, before senior Kendall Webster hit a solo home run at the start of the fourth inning.

It was close, but the Hornets held on, claiming a narrow, 10-9 victory.

“It was a team effort, with junior Kasey Moldrem on the mound for all 14 innings of the night,” said Webster.

Webster, Moldrem, Weeks and senior Bella Barone all ended the night with multiple RBIs.

“It was a good night to be a Hornet,” said Webster.
