It was a full week of matches for the Cadott golf program, with no time to rest.
April 24 Colfax
The Hornets were on the road to Colfax, to begin the week, in their first 18-hole match of the year.
Freshman Brady Goettl and sophomore Collin Kowalczyk carded the lowest score of 89, with Kowalczyk reaching a personal best and tying for the team low. Sophomore Parker Davis came next, with a 92, followed by senior Jordan Peters, with 103, and sophomore Gavin Roscoe, with 101.
βThe boys had a slow start, but finished strong,β said coach Scott Christenson.
April 25 Whispering Pines
The next day, the Hornets played host to area schools.
βOn Thursday, we played together as a team, which was very helpful,β said Christenson. βI could help my golfers around the course, as they were all together. Most matches, my team is all over the course, so it is hard to coach them while they are playing.β
Perhaps the biggest highlight of the day, was Roscoe getting an Eagle on Hole 8.
βThe entire team was there to witness it, which was pretty special,β said Christenson.
April 26 Bloomer
Once again, with no downtime, Cadott had a match at Bloomer, with tough conditions, but a well-played course from the Hornets.
Davis pulled in an 82, while Goettl and freshman Max Demulling carded 83. Kowalczyk followed with a 94 and Peters ended by scoring 99.
βI was very happy with how Parker Davis rebounded from Thursday,β said Christenson. βI was also very pleased with how Max Demulling played in his first varsity match.β
April 29 Marathon City
After the weekend off, the team headed to Marathon City, where Goettl had a score of 92, followed by Kowalczyk, with 100. Peters carded a 102, while freshman Garrett Engel added 109 and junior Ewan Weir scored 111.
βWe did not have all of our varsity golfers and the conditions were very wet,β said Christenson. βIt was also the first time everyone played that course.β
