Hornets drop in home stand

By Ginna Young The Cadott boys basketball program watched two conference foes come to town over the week, with battles on their hands, despite the home court advantage. Feb. 8 vs. Regis conference (L 85-57) Regis was first up and the powerhouse got the upper hand on the scoreboard, taking the win, 85-57. Leading for Cadott, was junior Cameron Allard, with 18 points, while junior Braden Schneider had 16 points and 7 assists. Feb. 12 vs. Osseo-Fairchild conference (L 78-70) A few days later, Osseo-Fairchild was up, where they topped the Hornets at the end of the first half by 14 points. Cadott wouldn’t go down without a fight and came storming back in the second half of the game, to outscore the Thunder. It wasn’t enough, however, and the match went to the visitors, 78-70. Schneider knocked down four shots beyond the arc, ending with 22 points, 4 assists and 5 steals, followed by junior Jackson Barone, with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Allard also was hot from three-point land, sinking three of the shots and coming away with 11 points on the night. Senior Brodee Burish came up big on the boards, with 7 points and 12 rebounds, while junior Blane Mengel hit a pair of threes for 6 points and junior Parker Davis finished with 4 points. Senior Nolan Blum rounded out the scoring with 2 points.
