Cadott gains ground on the mat at Wausau West

The Cadott girls wrestling team headed to Wausau West, for an all-girls tournament, with three of the Hornets competing.

Sophomore Iszy Sonnentag (107 pounds) placed highest for the Hornets, bringing home second place, after dropping the championship match to Lena’s Taylor Whiting, in a 16-2 major decision.

Freshman Tessa York (114) came in seventh, winning over Allison Weiss, of Holmen, in a 3:58 fall.

Senior Alaina Kempen (132) did not place, watching her consolation match go to Isabelle Brockman (Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln), by fall, in 2:55.

“The girls look ahead to Marshfield, this weekend,” said coach Zach Sirny.
