Hornets take on the Devil’s Duas

Always a big day for the Cadott wrestling program, is when they head to Wisconsin Dells, for the Devil’s Duals. This year, the event happened Dec. 9, where the Hornets faced multiple teams in heated competition.

Dec. 9 vs. D.C. Everest (L 62-14)

First up, Cadott went up against D.C. Everest, where sophomore Iszy Sonnentag (106 pounds) won over Jordan Danens, in a 9-3 decision. Senior Caden Kingston (175) also got the win over Niko Kelinschmidt, with a 17-2 technical foul.

Unfortunately for the Hornets, those would be the only wins.

Dec. 9 vs. Lomira (L 62-12)

Next up, was Lomira, where Cadott again struggled to come up with wins. Sophomore Monte Lodahl (132) took his match over Jimmie Ward, with a fall in 4:31, while junior Kaleb Lodahl also won over Connor Koch (120), by fall, in 1:27.

Dec. 9 vs. Reedsburg Area (W 45-36)

The Hornets then faced Reedsburg Area, where they captured multiple wins.

M. Lodahl got the victory over Zach Brekke, by fall, in 1:11, while freshman Brenton Faber (150) won over Skyler Hanke, with an 11-0 major decision and sophomore Micthell Reinke (190) took the win over Porter Redner, in just 37 seconds.

K. Lodahl also won over Noah Miller, with a 16-1 technical foul, while freshman Jon Phelps (157), Kingston, junior Tucker Salzgeber (285) and Sonnentag also came up with forfeit victories.

Dec. 9 vs. Milton (L 43-34)

Cadott then met Milton on the mat, where K. Lodahl got the win over Devlynn Albrecht, in only 47 seconds. M. Lodahl also won his match, against Tyler Treim, in a 9-3 decision, while freshman Owen Fasbender (138) brought in the victory over Cash Klug, by fall, in 1:09.

Faber also won over Jack Yohanek, in a 1:03 fall, while Phelps won against Kaleb Wendt, in a 14-0 major decision. Kingston also got the win over Matthew Wendt, by fall, in 1:07, with Reinke winning against Jaden Mair, in a 1:26 fall.

Salzgeber also won in a 1:01 fall, over Nathan Roddy.

Dec. 9 vs. Portage (L 42-39)

Finally, Portage was the final foe of the day.

K. Lodahl, freshman Garrett Engel (126), M. Lodahl, senior Nick Goettl (138) and Reinke all won by forfeit. Fasbender won his match against Alex Channing, in a 3:01 fall, followed by Salzgeber, who won over Colin Thompson, in a 45-second fall.
