Chiefs feel sting of Hornets

By Ginna Young

The Cornell girls basketball program saw Cadott come to town Dec. 4, but scoring was at a premium for the Chiefs. Cornell was held to just eight points in the first half and the second half didn’t see their offense pick up, as they were limited to only five points.

Cadott went home with the win, 48-13, in the non-conference bout.

Junior Bralee Schroeder led for Cornell, with 4 points, while junior Alyssa Bowe had 3, followed by senior Lauren Samardzich and freshman Haylee Ellis, with 2 points each. Freshmen Kyleigh Mercer and Emma Murphy each chipped in with a point.

For the Hornets, senior Bradee Burish ended with 12 points, followed by sophomore Taylor Hager, with 9, and sophomore Danielle Sikora, with 8. Senior Emma Kowalczyk and sophomore Kennedy Nerdrum each scored 5 points, while junior McKenna Steinke added 4 points.

Junior Kasey Moldrem and sophomore Lilly Spaeth each chipped in with 3 points.
