Chieftains concede ax

In a battle for the rivaled Birch Wood Ax, the Lake Holcombe football squad headed the short distance to New Auburn, Sept. 15, for a conference showdown.

Although both teams fought hard, there could be only one winner and one team to possess the ax for another year, and that team was New Auburn.

Lake Holcombe put up 22 points on the night, opposed to the 42 points added by the Trojans. With the loss, the Chieftains remain winless this season, at 0-4.
