Chiefs drop first league game to fierce Panthers

By Ginna Young

It was off to Prairie Farm for the Cornell football program Sept. 15, to face off with the conference foe. Offensive difficulties led to the Chiefs not scoring until the final quarter, with a 24-yard touchdown pass to sophomore Anthony Schofield from senior Jayden Joas-Shaw, while the home team racked up 56 points prior to that.

Cornell was held to just the six points and the match would go to the Panthers, 56-6, keeping the Chiefs winless so far this season.

Shaw led in passing for Cornell, with 63 yards, while senior Bentley Spangler had 13. Senior Luke Anderson finished the night with 27 points receiving, followed by Schofield, with 24 points and Shaw, with 3.

Senior Noah Cripe also got in the books, with 6 yards rushing and Schofield ended with 2.
