Chiefs drop road game to tough Bobcats squad

Cornell was on the road Sept. 5, going up against conference opponent Birchwood. The Chiefs ran into a bit of a hitch in the first set, watching Birchwood take the win, 25-8.
The Chiefs clawed their way back to make the second set close, but dropped it, 25-23. By the third set, Cornell looked like the team to beat, as they captured a 25-6 win, forcing a fourth set over the Bobcats. It wasn’t to be and Birchwood came up with the 25-14 victory, for a 3-1 win on the night.
Junior Bralee Schroeder led for the Chiefs, with 11 assists and 9 kills, while senior Brooke Anderson had 12 aces, 7 kills and 10 digs. Senior Brooke Sime finished with 5 kills and 8 aces, followed by Briana Glaus, who added 6 kills. Senior Makya Hetherington notched 14 assists on the night.
