Cadott falls to Wolves
By Ginna Young
Hornets fans hit the road Sept. 8, to watch Cadott’s football program take on Elmwood-Plum City, in a Dunn-St. Croix battle. Although the home team scored a touchdown in the first quarter, leaving Cadott scoreless, the game remained close until halfway through the third quarter.
Then, the Wolves turned on the offense and added two more touchdowns, to take a 22-0 lead into the final quarter. Cadott made one last effort to overtake their opponents, with a touchdown by senior Jordan Peters. The two-point run conversion was good from senior Easton Goodman, but that was all the offense the Hornets could muster and the game went to Elmwood-Plum City, 22-8.
Goodman led on passing, with 77 yards rushing, followed by junior Warren Bowe, with 20, while Peters had 12 yards. Senior Nolan Blum added 6 yards to the mix, with senior Ashton Bremness adding 5 and senior Connor Roth chipping in with 4 yards rushing.
The Hornets remain winless at 4-0 overall and 0-2 in the league, with half the season still ahead.
