The Cornell-Lake Holcombe golf squad hit the links over the week, gaining ground each time.

May 9 Turtle Lake

On the road at Turtle Lake, the Knights brought home some low scores, with sophomore Torren Parker carding a 54. Senior Olivia Keiser was only a little behind, scoring a 59.

“We are happy to see the improving scores this week, and look forward to playing at home on Friday,” said coach Megan Bitney.

Their home match started out a little shaky, as nerves set in, but with a perfect day to be on the course, the Knights shook off beginning jitters and saw good scores.

Parker again shot well, carding a 61, while senior Elliott Peterson scored a 64 on the day.

“Both Elliott and Torren had some amazing shots, and we were able to see their true golf swing coming through,” said Bitney. “With such a short season, due to weather, we are finally able to iron out some of their form and really work on individualized skills, before conference this week.”
