Cadott’s hard work hits the target at archery Nationals

Proving they have what it takes to compete against any school in the country, the Cadott archery program headed to Nationals in Louisville, Ky., May 11-13. Once the scores had been tabulated, the high school placed seventh in the nation out of 253 teams, with a score of 3,419, while the middle school placed 40th out of 240 teams, scoring 3,231.

“Both the high school team and the junior high team shot their best team scores of the season,” said coach Scott Christenson.

In addition, four archers – Aubree Foldy, Jada Loken, Lucas Bourget and Kaylee Stai – all shot personal bests.

Finishing with the highest score for Cadott, was junior Adam Evanson, who ranked 28th out of 532 boys in his grade level, with a score of 289. Senior Kyle Seiberling followed that with a 288, ranking 37th out of 513 senior boys. Freshman Anthony Glenz came next, ranking 29th out of 739, with a score of 286.

Senior Julia Sedlacek also placed high, ranking 32nd out of 739 and scoring 286. Foldy notched 30th in her grade, with a score of 286, while senior LaRhea Christenson was 36th, with a 285, and sophomore Trenton Schimmel ranked 51st, scoring 285. Senior Peter Weir was 67th and scored 285, followed by junior Katlynn Jackson, who scored a 283 and ranked 43rd.

Other archers scoring included senior Garrett Nerdrum (91st, 283); freshman Gavin Roscoe (59th, 282); senior Jerika Drangsveit (78th, 281); freshman Logan LaNou (96th, 279); sophomore Emma Romanowski (102nd, 278); freshman Mary Walthers (106th, 276); senior Michael Romanowski (186th, 275); junior Braden Denzine (165th, 274); sophomore Mozelle Walthers (160th, 274); freshman Abi Bowe (144th, 274); senior Angel Hladilek (152nd, 274); and freshman Danielle Sikora (151st, 273).

On the middle school side, eighth grader Gabe Dohms placed 41st, with the highest score of 284 for the boys, while Loken was 38th, scoring a 284.

“It was a great trip,” said S. Christenson.
