Cadott battles conditions when out hitting the links

By Ginna Young

As the season draws on, the Cadott golf program has seen some harsh conditions in a very unusual spring on the courses.

May 2 Osseo-Fairchild

In what was one of the windiest days of spring, so far, the Hornets hit the road for Osseo-Fairchild, in a conference match. Despite the elements, the Cadott players scored well on the day.

Coming up with the lowest score, was sophomore Parker Davis, with a 52, followed by sophomore Ewan Weir, who carded a 53. Freshman Gavin Roscoe came next, with a score of 58, while junior Jordan Peters was right behind, with a 59, and junior Logan Matherne ended with a score of 63.

“Tough conditions on Tuesday,” said coach Scott Christenson. “The boys struggled with the wind.”

May 3 Bloomer

The next day, Cadott was again on the road, this time, to Bloomer, where the Hornets had some of their best scores to date.

Senior Peter Weir came up with a score of 44, with Davis, E. Weir and Roscoe all carding a 48, while senior Tristan Drier had a score of 53.

“Improvement last night,” said Christenson.

May 4 Arkdale

With no time to even catch their breath, the Hornets headed to Arkdale to compete, finishing with a team score of 415.

“It was a tough course and most of them had never played there before,” said Christenson.

P. Weir led with a score of 92, followed by Davis, with a 96. Roscoe then carded a 109, while Matherne had a score of 118 and E. Weir had 126.

“Peter and Parker played well for us,” said Christenson.
