Despite less than perfect weather, the Cadott track program is still peforming at a high level, with many individual triumphs to their credit.

May 2 Gilman

On what was possibly the windiest day so far in the track season, the Cadott squad headed to Gilman.

“Not the best weather for running or performing your best, so we were really happy with the number of PRs that were run,” said coach Pat Rothbauer.

Coming in first for the boys side of things, was senior Peter Weir, in the 400-meter dash, with a time of 53.02. He also placed fifth in the high jump that day (5-04).

Placing third for the Hornets, was junior Wyatt Engel in the 110-meter hurdles (17.87) and junior Easton Goodman in the long jump (18.03.75).

The 4x800-meter relay team notched a second place finish for Cadott (10:19.57). On the girls side, the 4x400 relay team of freshmen Lilly Spaeth, Josie Roth and Taylor Hager, and sophomore Keira Urbanek, earned a first place finish (4:42.6).

“This was the first time some of these girls have run in the 4x4 and they really ran well,” said Rothbauer.

Individually, freshman Iszy Sonnentag finished first for the girls in the 400 dash (1:00.94), followed by sophomore Adrianna Goodman in second in the triple jump (31-01.25), with junior Emma Kowalczyk right behind in that event for third (29-05.25).

Also placing third, was junior Jaycee Stephens in the 100-meter hurdles (17.39), while sophomore Lyla Weggen also placed third in the 3,200-meter run (15:13.77). Sophomore Cortney Weggen was right behind for fourth place in the 3,200 run (15:28.65).

May 5 Stanley-Boyd

To end the week, the Hornets then headed to Stanley-Boyd, for their invitational. Weir again placed well for Cadott, earning first in the 400 dash (53.37) and 800-meter run (2:01.34), as well as a second place finish in the high jump (5-04).

Engel also finished high up, coming in fourth in the 110 hurdles (18.02).

The 4x400 relay team also did well for the boys, ending in second (3:42.68), while the girls 4x400 relay notched first place (4:28.53).

On the individual side of things for the girls, Sonnentag placed first in the long jump (16-05) and 100 hurdles (16.46), with Stephens second in the 100 hurdles (17.82) and the 300-meter hurdles (51.64). L. Weggen ended in third place for the Hornets in the 3,200 run (15:06.81).
