With a break in the cold and rain, the Cadott golf team finally saw some action, taking part in four meets over the week.
April 25 Eau Claire
In their first meet, the Hornets traveled to Hickory Hills, to face off with conference competition on nine holes.
“It was good to finally get a match in,” said coach Scott Christenson.
Sophomore Parker Davis brought in the lowest score for the Hornets, with a 48, with sophomore Ewan Weir right behind, with 51, followed by junior Logan Matherne, who carded a 54. Junior Jordan Peters followed that up with a score of 59 and freshman Collin Kowalkczyk carded a 62.
“We are a young team this year, with very little varsity experience,” said Christenson. “We are looking to improve each and every match.”
April 26 Colfax
The next day, the Hornets were back on the road to Colfax.
Placing highest for Cadott, was senior Peter Weir, with a 93, followed by David, carding a 108. Matherne came next, with a score of 115, with E. Weir right behind, with a 116.
Peters rounded out the scoring, with a 125.
April 27 Whispering Pines
With no time to rest, the Hornets then hosted a meet on their home course.
Senior Tristan Drier had the best score of the night, with 50, while freshman Gavin Roscoe was just behind, carding a 51. Matherne followed that up by carding a 52, while E. Weir scored a 56 and Davis finished with 57.
“We did a little different format and it was really nice, because our team golfed together,” said Christenson. “We, as coaches, were able to talk to our players and coach them through some tough situations.”
April 28 Bloomer
Hitting the links one final time for the week, the Hornets headed to Bloomer, where they were much improved from Wednesday’s meet. However, weather still played a factor.
“The conditions were cold and windy, and wet,” said Christenson.
Bringing home the lowest score for Cadott, was P. Weir, with an 89, while Roscoe and Davis each carded a 99. E. Weir scored a 110 for the team and Matherne ended the day by carding a 115.
