Cadott’s archery program is used to success and this year was no different, as the high school team earned their fourth State championship March 24-25, shooting at Wisconsin Dells. The high school came away with a score of 3,415, while the middle school placed second, shooting their personal best team score of 3,210.

“I was very happy with how our middle school performed on Saturday,” said coach Scott Christenson. “As for the high school team, we were just seven points shy of our school record.”

The Hornets were also one point off their season high and saw three archers in the top five, in individual shooting. Coming in second overall for the boys, was junior Adam Evanson, with a 293, while senior Peter Weir was third, shooting for a score of 292 and senior LaRhea Christenson placed fifth overall for the girls, scoring 289.

Scoring by their grade level and taking first, were Evanson and Payton Pederson (eighth grader), who shot for a 280. Overall in the middle school scoring, eighth grader Lauren Grady earned second place, with a score of 282, as well as coming in second in her grade level.

Placing third for the senior boys, was Kyle Seiberling, with a score of 288; sophomore Mozelle Walthers, 282; freshmen Marcus Burlum and Anthony Glenz, 284; and eighth grader Owen Fasbender, 279. Ending in fourth, was freshman Mary Walthers, 279.

“I was happy with their performance, but our goal is to be in the top three at Nationals,” said S. Christenson. “In order to do that, we need to improve our team score by about 15 points.”
