Hornets set goals for themselves in season opener

Thanks to an indoor facility at UW-Stout, the Cadott track program kicked off their season in a pair of events.

Taking part in the Blue Devil Invite, the Hornets saw several athletes place in the top 10, individually. It was a typical first meet of the year,” said coach Pat Rothbauer. “Everyone was able to participate in at least one event.”

Included in the list of honors, were freshman Iszy Sonnentag, who took first in the long jump for the girls team, with a distance of 16-00.5. She also placed third in the 55-meter hurdles (9.67), followed closely by junior Jaycee Stephens in fourth (9.74).

“It was a very strong meet for our hurdle crew,” said Rothbauer.
