Cornell watches their hard fought game go to Panthers
By Ginna Young
“We knew going into it that Prairie Farm was going to be a tough team.”
That’s what Cornell girls basketball coach Courtney Yanko said of the Feb. 7, match-up against East Lakeland Conference foe Prairie Farm.
The Chiefs fell behind in the first half, with the Panthers leading by 19 at halftime, but Cornell didn’t give up without a battle.
“The girls played well and fought hard all the way to the end,” said Yanko.
Time wasn’t on their side and Cornell watched Prairie Farm take the win, 70-33. The Chiefs now sit at 8-13 on the season and are 5-8 in the league.
