In a game that popped up against East Lakeland Conference opponent Clayton, the Lake Holcombe boys basketball squad was in action at home Feb. 7.
The first half saw the Chieftains up by four at the break, but the Bears refused to go down and outscored Lake Holcombe, to take a 62-48 victory.
“We had one of our best halves of the season in the first half, against third place team Clayton,” said coach Joy Webster.
That drops the Chieftains to 6-12 overall and to 5-8 in conference play.
Sophomore Brian Strzok led the way on offense for Lake Holcombe, with 16 points, with junior Taye Yeager right behind, with 15. Sophomore Ryley Craker ended the night with 12 points, followed by senior Harley Schroeder, who had 5.
Schroeder had a great night on the boards with 12 rebounds, followed by junior Trent Nitek, with 7, and Craker led the team with 5 assists.
