Photo by Ginna Young By Ginna Young Despite home court advantage Jan. 13, the Lake Holcombe girls basketball program had a rough time hosting New Auburn. “It was a particularly odd game,” said coach J.D. Kirkman. “We got in foul trouble late in the first half, which is strange for our team. It left us handicapped for the rest of the game.” The Chieftains went into the break down by 13 and while neither team scored many points in the second half of the game, the deficit from the first half didn’t help Lake Holcombe’s efforts to bring in the win. The match ended up in the Trojans’ favor, 53-37. See Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, issue of Courier Sentinel for the complete story.
