Chiefs can’t claw way past on-fire Panthers

By Ginna Young It’s never easy going up against Prairie Farm, as the Cornell boys basketball program was reminded Jan. 6, on the road. The conference game saw the Panthers on fire offensively, making pull-up jump shots and three-pointers over Cornell defenders at will. “We committed too many turnovers and conceded 15 offensive rebounds, which were the other two factors that contributed to the loss,” said coach Steve Parker. “We did, however, do a better job shooting free throws, and getting to the charity stripe vs. the last game.” The Chiefs were outscored by 13 in the first half and couldn’t catch up, conceding the game, 77-48. Cornell’s record is now 3-7 overall and 1-4 in the conference. See Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, issue of Courier Sentinel for the complete story.
