Cadott soars over Cardinals to stay undefeated thus far

By Ginna Young

While the area was recovering from a major snowstorm that caused more than a few difficulties, the Cadott girls basketball program never even hinted that their schedule had been interrupted. The Hornets made the short jaunt to Thorp Dec. 16, in a conference blow-out.

Cadott took a 39-point lead into halftime and while they only racked up another 30 points in the second portion of the game, it wasn’t needed, as Thorp was held to just four points after the break. The Hornets easily walked away the victors, 88-15.

Senior Lauryn Goettl led for her team offensively, with 24 points, while junior Emma Kowalczyk was just a step behind with 23 points – 15 of those coming from three-point land. Senior Laken Ryan also notched four shots from beyond the arc, finishing with 14 points.

Following that up, senior Elly Eiler had 6 points, and senior Morgan Moldrem and freshman Dani Sikora each came up with 5 points. Junior Bradee Burish ended with 4, sophomore Kasey Moldrem had 3, and senior Eva Enestvedt and freshman Taylor Hager each added 2 points.
