Hornets take flight over the Cardinals in opening game

By Ginna Young

It was a great start to the Cadott boys basketball season Dec. 1, as the Hornets were on the road at Eleva-Strum, for a non-conference match-up.

The first half was evenly matched for the two teams, with Cadott taking a slim one-point lead into the break over the Cardinals. But by the second half, the Hornets saw their offense come to life.

They outscored Eleva by a 12-point margin, to take home the 54-41 victory.

Senior Tegan Ritter led the way on offense for the Hornets, with 23 points, including four shots from beyond the arc and 5 made free throws. Sophomore Warren Bowe also connected with two long-range shots, finishing with 11 points.

Junior Jordan Peters also shot a three, ending the night with 9 points, while fellow juniors Nolan Blum and Brodee Burish each chipped in with 4 points. Sophomore Braden Schneider also added 3 points to the mix.
