Chiefs fall in bout with the Indians

Kicking off the season, the Cornell girls basketball program headed to Greenwood Nov. 17, to face off with the Indians in a non-conference game.

The score was evenly matched in the first quarter, with Greenwood taking a slim three-point lead into halftime over the Chiefs. By the second half, Greenwood pulled away, outscoring the Chiefs, 30-12.

As time ran out, the Indians took the win, 49-28.

Leading for Cornell, was junior Grace Harycki with 11 points, followed by senior Kelsea Popp, with 8, and sophomore Alyssa Bowe, with 5. Rounding out the scoring, were junior Lauren Samardzich, with 3, and sophomore Bralee Schroeder, with 1.
