Chieftains run over Raiders

In their only match of the week, the Lake Holcombe volleyball squad make the short trek to Bruce Sept. 6, for a conference showdown.

It was all Chieftains in the match-up, with the sets going to Lake Holcombe, 25-14, 25-18 and 25-19, for the conference win and their first win of the season.

Leading on kills, was junior Ava Story and senior Karly Kirkman, with 4 each, while junior Ella Hartzell recorded 16 digs and sophomore Abby Jones came up with 10 assists.

“The team played well tonight,” said coach Beth Meddaugh. “Communication and movement on the court are things that we continue to improve on, with each match.”
