Knights now playing with a full compliment

By Ginna Young

As the season draws near, the Cornell-Lake Holcombe golfers are improving with each meet and now have a full squad to hit the links.

May 5 Turtle Lake Meet

The Knights hit the course first at Turtle Lake, facing off with Clear Lake, where junior Olivia Kaiser carded a 69, while junior Elliott Peterson shot a score of 74.

“As the weather improves, so will the course conditions, and we are looking forward to continuing to improve on scores this week,” said coach Megan Bitney.

May 6 Winter Meet

With no time to rest, the Knights then traveled to Winter, and for the first time, junior Max Sauerwein, who joined late in the practice season, was on hand to show off his skills.

At the meet, Kaiser had the low score, with 59, followed by Sauwerwein, who carded a 67. Peterson ended the day right behind, with a score of 68.

“We were excited to get Max into his first match, and both Olivia and Elliott improved again from Thursday’s scores,” said Bitney.
