Sophomore Troy Duellman headed to the Individual State tournament for the first time Feb. 24, wrestling for the Cornell-Gilman Wolfpack. In the first round at State, Duellman (145 pounds) was matched with Griffin Marko, of St. Croix Falls.

“Troy couldn’t get his offense going and down here at State, getting that first takedown is critical,” said coach Greg Sonnentag.

Once Marko got the upper hand, Duellman couldn’t come back and dropped the match, in a 5-0 decision. The loss eliminated him from competition, putting the Wolfpack’s season at an end.

“We took a tough loss yesterday,” said Sonnentag. “He had a great season and it was a great season for him to build off of for next year.”
