Cornell can’t slip by the Raiders, Warriors

It’s a wrap on the regular season for the Cornell girls basketball team, as the Chiefs took on two conference opponents throughout the week.

Feb. 17 vs. Bruce conference (L 58-47)

It was off to Bruce, for a showdown with the Red Raiders, but Cornell went into halftime, down 26-17. The second half saw the Chiefs catch up, but time ran out before they could overtake Bruce.

The Raiders took the conference match, 58-47.

Feb. 18 vs. Winter conference (L 58-53)

The next night, battling snow squalls and high winds, the Chiefs traveled to Winter.

Although the game was a close affair, the Chiefs saw the match go to the Warriors, 58-53.

That brings Cornell’s record to 3-20 overall and 2-12 in the East Lakeland Conference.
