Lake Holcombe soars over Falcons in intense match

It’s always exciting when the Lake Holcombe and Flambeau girls basketball squads meet, and the Dec. 21 East Lakeland game was no exception. The Chieftains struck out for Flambeau, ready to do battle with one of the league’s top teams.

“Both teams were ready to play and it showed on the court,” said coach Jennifer Lechleither.

The Chieftains topped the Falcons in the first half, 24-22, and continued scoring on Flambeau in the second, but the scorebook doesn’t tell the whole story.
