Cornell bounces back in match-up with Flambeau

By Ginna Young

In the first East Lakeland Conference game for Cornell this year, the girls basketball team hosted the visiting Flambeau Falcons.

The first half didn’t go as planned, with the Chiefs only scoring eight points, while holding Flambeau to just 18. It was a different story in the second half, with Cornell scoring 28 points to put a scare into the Falcons.

“I was so proud of the girls,” said coach Courtney Yanko. “Friday night we really showed what we could do out on the floor.”
