Abundance of fouls can’t keep Chieftains from win
By Ginna Young
It was a very interesting game Nov. 30, as the Lake Holcombe girls headed to Prentice for a non-conference basketball game. The match was filled with fouls throughout the game, with 32 called on Lake Holcombe alone, resulting in all five starters fouling out.
“We ended the game with our three freshman players and one junior,” said coach Jennifer Lechleitner. “I was so very proud of how those girls handled themselves playing against five defensive players.”
The first half was a close affair, with Prentice leading 25-20 at halftime. Lake Holcombe kicked their offense into gear in the second half, scoring 42 points, while holding Prentice to just 22. The Chieftains held on for a 62-57 road victory.
