Hosting the Cadott boys basketball program Nov. 30, the Cornell Chiefs were ready to play in the non-conference match. Cornell trailed behind offensively in the first half, but righted their scoring in the second.
Both teams were evenly matched in the second half of the game, scoring 22 points on each side. Because of their first-half deficit, the Chiefs couldn’t catch up to Cadott before the game clock ran out and the game went the way of the Hornets, 45-33.
On the offensive side for Cornell, junior Dylan Bowe notched two shots from beyond the arc, finishing with 16 points. Junior Blake Anders added 9 points, with freshman Hunter Anders shooting a three-pointer.
Junior Dawson Munson also ended with 3 points, followed by junior Avery Turany, with 2.
Freshman Warren Bowe led the way on the scoreboard for Cadott, with 9 points, including three of those from long range, followed by sophomore Nolan Blum and sophomore Jordan Peters, with 8 points. Junior Tegan Ritter also notched a three-pointer, ending with 6 points on the night.
Sophomore Brodee Burish recorded 5 points, while sophomore Dylan Drehmel had 4 and senior Cameron Messenger chipped in with 2 points.
