The Cornell Chiefs Girls basketball program kicked off their season Nov. 19, by facing McDonell, with the Chiefs on their home turf.

The Cornell girls fought hard for the victory, but they struggled with defense. The score at halftime was capped at 55-11 and the second half went much the same, with a lack of offense coming from Cornell.

McDonell took the win, 92-13, in the non-conference match.

Many Cornell team members contributed to the game, but freshman Bralee Schroeder led on the board, with 6 points, while junior Kelsea Popp followed close behind, with 4 points.

Sophomore Teryn Close helped by scoring a free-throw and fellow sophomore Grace Harycki scored 2 points.
