Chieftains face high-ranked team with opening Regional
By Ginna Young
The opening round of Regionals saw the Lake Holcombe volleyball players head to an away venue as the No. 14 seed in their bracket for Division 4.
“We knew going into this match, that it would be a tough one, when we were paired against No. 5 State-ranked Mc-Donell Central, but the girls went in with a good attitude, determined to work hard,” said coach Beth Meddaugh. “They did work hard and I’m very proud of them for that.”
Unfortunately for the Chieftains, McDonell was too much to overcome and the sets went the way of the Macks, 25-4, 25-3 and 25-14. With the 3-0 win by McDonell, Lake Holcombe saw their season at an end.
