Chiefs downed by Eagles

Almond-Bancroft came to call on Cornell’s field Oct. 1, for a football match-up under the Friday night lights. While Almond-Bancroft scored first in the opening quarter and the Chiefs remained scoreless, the second quarter was evenly matched.

Cornell junior Avery Turany ran in a touchdown from 10 yards, with the two- point conversion good. Almond-Bancroft answered right back with a touchdown of their own, but the Chiefs weren’t done.

Turany again scored a touchdown, with a six-yard run and the two-point conversion good from sophomore Daniel Person. Almond-Bancroft scored once more before halftime, for a 24-16 lead.
