Coming into the Regional meet, the Cadott track program had high hopes to advance as many as possible to the next level, which was accomplished.

June 8 West Cloverbelt Conference Championship

Getting in one last meet before the post-season, Cadott headed to Dorais Field, where two of the girls teams placed first in their events at the West Cloverbelt Conference championships.

Notching the first place finish, was the 4x200-meter relay team of junior Mallory Kyes, and seniors Autumn Yeager, Hailey Wellner and Haylee Rowe, with a time of 2:01.07. Also bringing in first place, was the team of Yeager, Wellner, freshman Mckenna Harel and sophomore Lucy Lindeman in the 4x800-meter relay (11:48.69).

Individually, senior Lexxie Rowe carried off top honors in the 400-meter dash (1:03.29), taking second, followed by freshman Emma Kowalczyk in the 100-meter hurdles, with her second place finish (18.95). Senior Carissa Woodford also came in second in the pole vault event (7-06).

On the boys side, junior Kaleb Sonnentag placed third in pole vault (10-00) and senior Brad Irwin ended in third with the high jump (5-08). Irwin also came in fourth in the triple jump (39-01), while junior Tad Weiss placed fourth in the 3,200-meter run (11:27.86).

June 14 Cadott Regional Thanks to a “malfunction” at the previous location, the Hornets played host for the WIAA Division 3 Regionals, with the boys taking first place in the field of 11, while the girls placed second.

Moving on from the Regional bracket, the girls 4x800 relay came in second, while the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams all earned third. The boys 4x400 and 4x200 teams finished with second place to move on, as well.

For the boys, individually, Weiss placed first in the 1,600-meter run (5:15.50) and third in the 800-meter run (2:23.58). Also earning first place, was sophomore Peter Weir in the 3,200 run (11:06.84) and the 300-meter hurdles (44.19). Sonnentag also ended in first for the 400 dash (54.66), with Irwin ending in second for long jump (1804.5) and the triple jump (38-07.5).

Junior Cameron Messenger also finished well, ending in third in the 110-meter hurdles (19.28).

Finishing in second for the girls, L. Rowe took the honors in the 100-meter dash (13.60) and 400 dash (1:04.2). Lindeman also came in second, for her distance of 92-00 in the discus throw events.

Sophomore Julia Sedlacek ended the day in third for 100-meter hurdles (19.13), as did senior Kaileigh Tice, in the 800 run (2:44.05). Woodford also placed third in pole vault (8-03).

The top-scoring Cadott athletes now move on to face Sectional competition, vying for a place at State.
