Knights ramp up times before start of playoffs

It was off to Chequamegon, June 3, in the Cornell-Lake Holcombe Knights’ last regular season track meet, where the athletes gained experience before playoffs begin. During the meet, the boys and girls teams each took fourth place.

In the 4x100-meter relay, the boys took first place, thanks to sophomore Avery Turany, senior Austin Bowe, sophomore Dylan Bowe and sophomore Blake Anders, with a time of 48.17. In the 4x200-meter relay, both teams took second place.

The girls 4x100-meter relay team ended in second place, while junior Brooke Lechleitner came in second in the 400-meter dash, with a time of 1:06. Turany finished second in the pole vault, with a height of 11 feet.

“This meet had a lot of good competition,” said coach Laurie Bowe. “We had some personal bests in events.”
