Knights run over Warriors

It was no-contest for the Cornell-Lake Holcombe Knights Softball team, as they hosted the Clear Lake Warriors May 25, in an East Lakeland Conference match-up. The Knights used home field advantage to top the visiting Warriors, in a shutout display.

With their 10-0 victory, the Knights sit at second in the league, with an 11-3 overall record and 7-1 in the conference.

Winning on the mound for the Knights, was Izzy Clark, who went six innings. The senior allowed only 2 hits, while notching 10 strikeouts.

Leading the Knights on offense, junior Teaira Spaeth finished the game with 4 hits, while senior Michaiah Galster was right behind, adding 3 hits. Senior Alyssa Helland followed that with 2 hits.

Bringing in 1 hit each, were Clark, senior Kaitlyn Heinzen,  sophomore Michayla Turchen, and freshmen Makya Heatherington, Brooke Anderson and Grace Harycki.
