The last home game of his high school career was one to remember for Lake Holcombe senior Kaden Crank. In front of family and friends Feb. 13, Crank scored his 1,000th basketball point against Bruce.

“It was really all my teammates that helped me,” said Crank, who appreciates them getting the ball to him for open shots.

Crank says he didn’t set a goal to reach 1,000, after working to get on the varsity team his freshman and sophomore years. An injury from football didn’t slow him down in his junior year, or impact his shot, so Crank was able to rack up the points over his career.

The last three years, Crank improved the team dynamic by playing basketball over the summers with some of his teammates, as well as benefiting from working with his brother from an early age.

“And it just went from there,” said Crank.
