Going in as a No. 7 seed, the Cornell girls basketball squad made the short trek to Flambeau Feb. 9, for the first round of Regionals. Flambeau hosted the event as the No. 2 seed in the playoff bracket.

“We were confident going into the game,” said coach Courtney Yanko. “The last time we played Flambeau, we only lost by 11. We knew we needed to stop the fast breaks and knew who to focus on the other team.”

Cornell moved well on the defensive side of things, but could not get shots going on offense.
