Dragons scorch the Chiefs

It was a battle of the Lakeland Conferences Feb. 2, as the East Lakeland Cornell boys basketball program hosted the West Lakeland Siren Dragons.

Record-wise, the teams were fairly matched, but Cornell took part in a lot of games the previous weeks, against some tough teams, which could play a role in “wearing down” as the season wraps up.

“We played hard, after a difficult Holcombe loss on Monday,” said coach Marcus Leland. “We just lacked a defensive intensity that was needed to get some important stops.”
