Chiefs feel heat of Dragons

By Ginna Young

Representing the East Lakeland, the Cornell girls basketball squad took on the Siren Dragons from the West Lakeland Conference. Although the crossover battle took place on the Chiefs’ home court, the Dragons seemed to have the advantage.

“We came out knowing Siren is a very strong and dominant team,” said coach Courtney Yanko. “We knew it was going to be a tough game.”

Cornell moved the ball together and played good defense, but with a few missed three pointers at the end of the first half, the Chiefs went into halftime down by 16.
